Senior-Level Controls Engineer

Full-Time Position
Effective Date: 05.01.2022

Position Summary

A Senior Level Controls Engineer will develop, create, and modify general PLC Logix applications.  As a member of a highly motivated, dynamic, multi-disciplined team, you will design and develop world- class automation solutions. Duties involve contributing to machine concepts, design of control software, integration of software with electrical and mechanical systems, process development and machine installation at customer sites.  Programming and integration assignments involve leading-edge technologies and processes utilizing PLC’s, PC’s, robotics, motion controllers, vision systems, laser and other controllers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


  • PLC Programming with Rockwell ControlLogix & RsLogix and Siemens S7(TIA portal) Software.

  • Debug, Commissioning, and Support of machinery on site.

  • Face to face interaction with customers and stakeholders.

  • Machine commissioning program start up, debug and install of programs.

  • Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes. 

  • Communicate and provide status reports to owners and management.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting equipment and validating the control systems to ensure reliability in operating environments.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred, but not required.

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training.

  • Experience with custom assembly equipment and a good understanding of pneumatics.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Spreadsheets

  • Working knowledge and experience with electrical codes and safety standards.

  • Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format

  • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material

  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of interfaces to FANUC robot controllers is helpful.

  • Ability to travel
